Role Purpose
The Transition Manager will lead the migration of Finance and Credit Control activities to an outsourced provider, ensuring robust governance, compliance, and performance oversight. Acting as the primary liaison between Hiscox and the outsourcing partner, this role safeguards contractual obligations, service level agreements (SLAs), and regulatory standards while driving a smooth transition with minimal business disruption.

Key Responsibilities

Oversight & Governance

  • Monitor and evaluate the outsourced provider’s performance against agreed KPIs and SLAs for credit control and finance operations.
  • Establish governance frameworks to ensure transparency and accountability throughout the transition and post-migration phases.

Relationship Management

  • Serve as the main point of contact for the outsourcing partner, fostering a collaborative and results-driven relationship.
  • Align internal stakeholders across Finance Ops & Credit Control to maintain shared objectives and expectations.

Risk & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to Hiscox internal controls, regulatory requirements, and company policies within outsourced operations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks proactively, implementing contingency plans where necessary.

Reporting & Analysis

  • Deliver accurate and timely reporting on transition progress, credit control performance, and risk indicators to senior leadership.

Transition & Change Management

  • Transition Leadership: Drive the end-to-end migration of credit control and finance processes, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with internal teams and external partners to manage expectations and maintain transparency.
  • Process Documentation: Oversee the documentation and handover of processes to the outsourcing provider, ensuring clarity and compliance.
  • Change Adoption: Champion change management initiatives to embed new ways of working across Finance and Credit Control teams.
  • Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks during the transition phase and implement robust mitigation strategies.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of credit control processes, financial risk management, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage third-party relationships and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Analytical mindset with experience in performance monitoring and reporting.

Experience

  • Proven experience in finance or credit control managerial roles.
  • Previous experience managing outsourced providers or shared service centres is highly desirable.
  • Strong track record in governance, transition management, and process improvement.

  • Transition Milestones: Complete migration within agreed timelines and budget, with zero critical business disruptions.
  • Provider Performance: Ensure outsourced provider meets SLAs and KPIs for credit control and finance operations.
  • Debt Recovery Efficiency: Maintain or improve collection rates compared to pre-outsourcing benchmarks.
  • Reporting Accuracy: Deliver 100% timely and accurate transition and performance reports to senior management.
