This Corporate Communications Associate Specialist develops and executes external communications that shape how MillerKnoll shows up publicly and supports key business priorities. Responsibilities include media research, monitoring, planning and outreach, press material development, newsroom management and corporate awards program support, all in service of integrated communications plans that build awareness, relevance, and credibility. The role partners closely with internal communications teams and agency collaborators to deliver thoughtful, clear, and timely external storytelling.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Support day‑to‑day media operations, including monitoring the media inbox, developing pitches, supporting media outreach, maintaining master media lists, and tracking coverage and online conversations using data‑ and insight‑driven tools to understand where and how MillerKnoll shows up, and flag emerging trends and opportunities.
Support external storytelling and writing across press releases, newsroom articles, and other external communications content, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and brand alignment.
Maintain and update MillerKnoll’s online newsroom and related tools.
Conduct research and develop submissions for brand and corporate awards.
Provide ad hoc external communications support for brand teams for product launches, events, and other business priorities as needed.
Performs additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives.

Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, English, business administration, or related field.
1 - 3 years of experience in corporate, employee, or marketing communications.
Skills and Abilities
Strong external‑facing storytelling skills with experience developing press releases, media pitches, and newsroom content.
Solid understanding of media relations fundamentals, including media list development, pitching, coverage monitoring, and supporting journalist relationships.
Ability to track and interpret media coverage and conversation to understand where and how the brand shows up and identify emerging trends or opportunities.
Comfortable working across communications tools and platforms, including Co-pilot/ChatGPT, Microsoft Office, and media and content management systems such as Cision.
Highly organized, detail‑oriented self‑starter with the ability to manage multiple projects, collaborate across teams, and communicate clearly and professionally with senior leaders and stakeholders.
