Eliot’s innovative Community Behavioral Health Center (CBHC) program serves as a single entry point for mental health and substance use services for youth, families and adults. The Senior Family Partner participates with the Mobile Crisis Intervention team providing strengths-based, solution focused, in-home support to youth and families during a behavioral health emergency, with a primary focus on assisting the parents/caregivers.
Responsibilities:
- Support families in the development of a strengths-based treatment plan/safety plan, in conjunction with the ESP’s clinical recommendations, including crisis intervention techniques to help diffuse a situation, and potentially keep a youth at home, while connecting the youth and family to needed supportive services.
- Assist family partners/parents/caregivers in meeting the needs of youth through educating, supporting, coaching, modeling and guiding, utilizing the empowerment model. Act as a liaison and advocate between family and the mental health/educational system.
- Participate with the Mobile Crisis Intervention team providing strengths-based, solution focused, in-home support to youth and families during a behavioral health emergency, with a primary focus on assisting the parents/caregivers. Ensure compliance with the principles/policies of MCI to advocate for the preference of the family.
- Assist with the hiring, training, and evaluation of Family Partners, and provide weekly supervision.
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree in a human services field and at least one (1) year experience working with children, adolescents or transition age youth, or High School diploma/GED with two (2) years experience.
- Must have a minimum of two (2) years supervisory experience and experience working collaboratively with state agencies, consumer advocacy groups or behavioral health facilities.
- Must be a parent, guardian or caregiver of a youth with special needs, preferably mental health needs.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with both professional and non-professionals, and have the capacity to work effectively with the service provider community. Ability to be an effective spokesperson representing both the MCI program and the needs of the families in the community.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm
