Job Description Summary

Organization's Summary Statement:

The OCT clinician is responsible for providing services to racially and culturally diverse students and the University community, by offering individual and group psychotherapy/counseling, diagnostic assessment, psychological and career testing, consultation, outreach, and crisis intervention. The OCT clinician is skilled in fostering the mental health, academic progress and career development of University students through a variety of psychotherapeutic and psycho-educational interventions.

EXAMPLES OF WORK:

● Provides client assessments.
● Coordinates client referrals as necessary and appropriate.
● Provides psychotherapy services to clients.
● Assists with administrative functions.
● Other duties as assigned.


Physical Demands: Standard office work

Preferences: Licensed as a practicing mental health provider for more than two years.. Experience working with diverse populations is preferred. Affiliation with national and regional professional organizations.

Licenses/ Certifications: Licensed or license-eligible as a mental health provider in the State of Maryland

Minimum Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 

●    Education: Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. 

●    Experience: Two (2) years of clinical experience in an ambulatory mental health setting.

●    Other: LGPC may also be considered with at least 2000 hours of post-graduate supervised clinical work and the ability to obtain a LCSW-C or LCPC license within one year.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES: 

●    Knowledge of mental health diagnostic conditions, principles of psychotherapy.
●    Knowledge of group psychodynamics and supervision.
●    Skill in oral and written communication.
●    Skill in the use of Microsoft Office products. 
●    Ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures, regulations, and laws.
