Your role and responsibilities

ABB is growing its Traction team in Maryborough, QLD, and we currently have two Assembler positions available to support the QTMP project. Located at our new manufacturing facility on the Fraser Coast, this role offers the opportunity to work with advanced technology and contribute to the assembly of Traction Converters. You will support production targets by operating machinery and equipment, following established processes, and interpreting technical drawings and assembly instructions to deliver high-quality outcomes.


The work model for the role is: Onsite

This role is contributing to the Traction division in Maryborough, QLD Main stakeholders are the Traction teams in Australia and Switzerland

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Conducting all types of assembly work to produce semi-finished or final products/systems/panels, including the packing where integrated with production lines.

  • Performing work manually or by using light hand tools.

  • Carrying out regular quality testing as part of a defined production process.

  • Operating within standard operating procedures and maintaining a clean work area.

Qualifications for the role

  • Preferably holds Certificate II in Electrotechnology or Electrical Trade Qualified.

  • Qualifications for operating cranes, jib cranes, platforms, and driving forklifts preferred (but not essential).

  • Experience in mechanics, electrics, and/or automation, with ability to read construction and electrical drawings.

  • Experience in Loom Manufacture (Including Terminations) is preferred (but not essential)

  • Manual dexterity and analytical skills, along with the ability to learn and retain knowledge. Strong predisposition to work in a team environment. Ability to follow instructions and work to plans.

  • Able to work in a factory environment which might involve heat, repetitive tasks, long periods of standing and bending over while handling parts, tools and other equipment.

  • Able to produce high quality work Problem-Solving Specialist Technical Skills Engineering & Manufacturing Processes Customer Satisfaction Ability to collaborate locally, nationally and internationally.

  • A “Can Do” attitude and willingness to be flexible to get the job done. Enjoys a fast-paced working environment with multiple parallel activities.
