About the role

Head Life Cycle Engineering

We are seeking an experienced and driven Head Life Cycle Engineer to lead our Life Cycle Engineering function. In this role, you will own and optimize the product life cycle development through design transfer, manufacturing, continuous improvement, and end‑of‑life. You will define the engineering vision, drive cross‑functional collaboration, ensure compliance with internal and regulatory standards, and deliver robust, sustainable, and cost‑efficient product performance throughout its lifecycle.

This role requires deep engineering expertise, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to influence stakeholders across R&D, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Life Cycle Engineering team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Execute Life Cycle Engineering across all product platforms and be a partner with R&D, Operations, and Quality to ensure seamless transitions between product development stages.
  • Establish, maintain, and enhance life cycle KPIs such as robustness, manufacturability, maintainability, cost efficiency, sustainability, and reliability.
  • Define governance processes for change management, design updates, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead root-cause investigations (e.g., DFMEA/PFMEA, DOE, statistical analysis) and drive sustainable corrective actions.
  • Oversee design changes, cost‑down initiatives, and performance improvements without compromising quality or compliance.
  • Partner with Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, and Regulatory to ensure alignment of changes and improvements.
  • Communicate technical and strategic priorities to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders and serve as the technical escalation point for product performance issues, field feedback, and customer complaints.
  • Ensure all life‑cycle engineering activities comply with internal standards, industry regulations, and documentation requirements and support audits, technical reviews, and risk assessments related to product changes and updates.

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in engineering, ideally in Life Cycle Engineering, Sustaining Engineering, or Product Ownership.
  • Proven leadership experience managing teams and driving cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong background in regulated or high‑complexity industries (e.g., medical devices or biotech).
  • Master’s in mechanical engineering, biotechnology engineering, electrical engineering, or related technical field.

Skills

  • Expertise in product life cycle management, design for manufacturability, reliability engineering, and change control processes.
  • Proficiency in analytical tools (FMEA, DOE, CAD/PLM systems).
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality systems.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and lead teams through complex technical challenges.
