Position Overview

Robotic Surgery Physician Assistants support a wide range of surgical specialties, including:

  • General Surgery
  • Colorectal
  • Bariatrics
  • Gynecology
  • Urology

In this role, you will function as a key member of the surgical care team, with responsibilities that include:

  • Providing intraoperative bedside assistance during robotic procedures
  • Rounding with surgical teams to evaluate and manage patients
  • Writing progress notes and placing orders
  • Performing bedside procedures as needed
  • Delivering coordinated, high-quality care across the patient journey

You will serve as a frontline provider, ensuring continuity of care for surgical patients throughout their hospital stay.

Schedule

  • Monday–Friday, flexible shift coverage

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in surgical inpatient medicine

Required Qualifications

  • At least 1 year of experience in robotic surgery
  • Experience with Intuitive Surgical systems (Xi, X, and/or dV5)

Licensing & Certifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Current New York State PA licensure
  • NCCPA certification
  • Current ACLS and BLS certifications
  • NYS Infection Control certification
  • DEA registration with NYS Opioid Prescriber Training compliance

Please note that all roles require on-site presence (variable by role). Therefore, all employees should live within a commutable distance to NYP.
