Digital Design UI Lead (Vice President)

The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior level position responsible for establishing and implementing new or revised application systems and programs in coordination with the Technology team. The overall objective of this role is to lead applications systems analysis and programming activities.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with multiple management teams to ensure appropriate integration of functions to meet goals as well as identify and define necessary system enhancements to deploy new products and process improvements
• Resolve variety of high impact problems/projects through in-depth evaluation of complex business processes, system processes, and industry standards
• Provide expertise in area and advanced knowledge of applications programming and ensure application design adheres to the overall architecture blueprint
• Utilize advanced knowledge of system flow and develop standards for coding, testing, debugging, and implementation
• Develop comprehensive knowledge of how areas of business, such as architecture and infrastructure, integrate to accomplish business goals
• Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define issues and develop innovative solutions
• Serve as advisor or coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work as necessary
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Recommended Qualifications:

• 6-10 years of relevant experience in Apps Development or systems analysis role
• Extensive experience system analysis and in programming of software applications
• Experience in managing and implementing successful projects
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in at least one area of Applications Development
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
• Master’s degree preferred

Job Description

The Applications Development Technology Lead Analyst is a senior-level position responsible for establishing and leading the new Digital Design UI capability for the Finance technology portfolio. This leader will be responsible for unifying the user interface and overall user experience across our critical financial platforms, beginning with the Oracle Ledger, Accounting, and Close technology stack. The overall objective of this role is to establish a center of excellence for front-end engineering, drive the creation of a modern and cohesive digital experience, and lead applications systems analysis and programming activities for the UI domain.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and lead a specialized UI development team in Pune, building a center of excellence for modern front-end engineering.
• Drive the design, development, and implementation of a unified Digital Design UI capability, creating a cohesive and intuitive user experience across multiple financial platforms.
• Partner closely with multiple management teams, UX designers, and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into modern, scalable, and user-friendly interfaces.
• Provide deep technical expertise and advanced knowledge of UI programming, ensuring all application designs adhere to the overall architecture blueprint while driving front-end innovation.
• Develop and enforce standards for front-end coding, testing, debugging, and implementation to ensure high-quality, reusable, and maintainable code.
• Initially focus on the Oracle Ledger, Accounting, and Close technology stack, with a long-term vision to scale the new digital design standards across the entire Finance technology portfolio.
• Provide in-depth analysis with interpretive thinking to define UI/UX issues and develop innovative solutions that improve user adoption and operational efficiency.
• Serve as a senior advisor and coach to mid-level developers and analysts, allocating work, mentoring talent, and fostering a culture of technical excellence.
• Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Recommended Qualifications:

• 10+ years of relevant experience in Apps Development, with a significant focus on front-end and UI development.
• Subject Matter Expert (SME) in modern UI development, including extensive experience with frameworks like React, Angular, or NodeJS, and state management libraries.
• Proven experience in leading, managing, and mentoring a team of software engineers.
• Demonstrated experience in managing and implementing successful, large-scale UI projects from concept to production.
• Strong ability to partner with UX design teams to translate wireframes and mockups into functional, high-fidelity user interfaces.
• Experience in establishing front-end development standards, best practices, and reusable component libraries.
• Ability to adjust priorities quickly as circumstances dictate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Consistently demonstrates clear and concise written and verbal communication, with an ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
