The Software Installation team is responsible for the installation and upgrading of Elekta’s Oncology SW Products in sites across Region Europe and to the required quality and schedule in accordance with the project/installation schedule.

 

Software Installation Engineers are primarily responsible for installing, configuring, and testing Elekta OIS and TPS software and associated third-party software and equipment in support of customer expectations and revenue goals.

Responsibilities include remote and on-site installation. Installation of other Elekta software products may also be undertaken.

This position will be based in either Italy or Spain and we are seeking a candidate with Italian, Spanish & English language skills.

Key role responsibilities;

  • Manage and coordinate all activities associated with the particular project including liaison and negotiation with the local engineers, distributor management and project manager, hospital physicists and technicians, site contractors and relevant departments within Elekta.

  • Manage their own environment at a remote location in terms of cleanliness, organisation, workload, risk assessments etc.

  • Carry out all work in accordance with Elekta’s safety instructions and procedures. Any issues or problems that may adversely affect the project, its ongoing reliability or the safety of any personnel must be reported to the Installation Manager or local Project Manager in a timely manner.

  • Successfully complete the required classroom and on-site training needed to perform the role. (Engineers will not be deemed to be competent to install a product until the Installation Manager has confirmed that the relevant competences and skills have been achieved.)

  • Once certified provide guidance and on-site training to other engineers on site and report back to the Installation Manager accordingly.

  • Upon completion of any work on site, the engineer is required to complete and submit to the Installation Manager and local business unit all relevant reports, backups and signed documentation.

  • When not on site, the engineer will be required to assist the Technical Service Department, either remotely or in the office, with technical advice and support or to complete other tasks as directed by the Installation Manager.

Relevant knowledge, skills & competences;

  • Educated to Degree or diploma In Computer Sciences (or equivalent experience)

  • Experience working in a hospital or clinical environment (hospital or private health setting)

  • Technical skills in the area of Server Administration, PC/Network Computing, Knowledge of SQL, Citrix

  • Demonstrate customer care skills & experience in a support environment (desired)

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Actively seeking and maintaining the necessary technical competence to be able to effectively diagnose and resolve problems on all the Elekta software product range.

  • Ability to identify necessary training requirements and escalating these to management as needed.

  • Strong interpersonal communication and positive influencing skills, capable of working on own initiative whilst also being an effective team player

The key working relationships will be with Project management, HW Installation Engineers, Installation team Leaders, SW Installation engineers, Elekta support and Hospital Customers.

The SW Installation engineer should expect to be out of the country of residence for up to 9 months of the year with individual trips taking typically 2 to 7 days each.
