Essential Functions and Job Responsibilities

  • Develop, document, and maintain quality control standards and ongoing quality objectives; create and implement inspection criteria, inspection masters, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with Quality and cross-functional team members to support new product development, supplier quality initiatives, quality projects, and continuous improvement activities.
  • Engage early in product planning and development to identify manufacturability risks and project-related Quality risks to ensure product performance.
  • Apply structured problem-solving methods, including root cause analysis and corrective action, to product investigations such as customer complaints and feedback.
  • Conduct technical reviews and analysis of deviations, performance metrics, and nonconforming or anomalous conditions.
  • Identify systemic quality issues and ensure effective corrective actions are implemented and sustained.
  • Support on-site and remote assessments of Sonnax suppliers; collaborate with suppliers to improve Quality systems, delivery performance, and continuous improvement plans.
  • Analyze performance data, identify trends, and initiate improvement actions for key Quality metrics.
  • Interface with internal stakeholders and supplier partners to support procurement of materials, products, and services that meet Quality and customer requirements.
  • Provide daily technical support to inspection and testing personnel to ensure accuracy, consistency, and technical integrity of Quality activities.

Key Internal Partners

  • Inventory Control Management – Collaborate on customer returns, quality holds, and product disposition or return to inventory.
  • Engineering Management – Provide input on new product inspection criteria; collaborate on MRB activities and corrective action investigations.
  • Purchasing Management – Coordinate receipt inspection sequencing to meet customer requirements; collaborate on supplier quality performance.
  • Sales Management – Support customer returns and feedback resolution.
  • Manufacturing Management – Assist with inspection-related concerns and collaborate on customer feedback as it relates to manufacturing processes.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) or equivalent, with five (5) or more years of experience in engineering, process methods, inspection, and/or Quality Control; experience in precision metal fabrication preferred.
  • Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Continuous Improvement, and Six Sigma methodologies; certification is a plus.
  • Proficient knowledge of GD&T.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • ASQ certification or formal Quality training preferred.
  • Familiarity with Quality Management Systems, including ISO 9001, preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to wear required PPE for area, including safety glasses and steel toed shoes.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.

Pay Range:

52,400.00 - 78,600.00
