Highlights:
Summary: The Respiratory Manager is responsible for assisting the Director with the daily administration of the Respiratory Department functions. The functions include but are not limited to budget, performance appraisals, design, implementation of special projects, and competency of staff. Manager responsibilities will also include the direct supervision of all supervisors. The manager will develop new and improved programs for education and clinical application in regard to current standards of care and practice, changing technology, and identified quality improvement opportunities. In addition, the manger is responsible for coordinating the orientation for all new employees within defined practice area(s), and ensuring the validation of competency of staff upon employment and ongoing with accurate record keeping within the assigned area(s). The maintenance of clinical proficiency is a must and direct and/or indirect patient care may be included in this role, as needed. Education / Experience:Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or other Allied Health Degree is required. Minimum 5 years clinical experience required. Minimum 2 years management experience required. Practice certification in specialty area preferred (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) License / Certification: Active ASBRT RRT required, Active NBRC RRT required, BLS required, Additional certification may be requried (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc) depending upon area assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:• Must possess excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Must have the ability to successfully complete work within rigid time constraints.
• Must possess reasoning ability and good independent judgment.Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Position requires sitting for 20% of the workday and mobility 80% of the workday.
There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels. Requires occasional interfacility transport via ground transportation.
Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
