Job Summary: The PAR technician is responsible for assisting and supporting nursing units with supplies and materials. The role will optimize supply levels based on unit needs, maximize available space, and reduce stock outs.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or GED.
Licensure, Registration and/or Certification: None.
Work Experience: Minimum 3 years of inventory management and/or customer service related experience.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills. Basic math skills for converting quantities. Proficient MS Excel knowledge, preferred.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: Develops, generates and analyzes usage reports and recommends adequate PAR levels of supplies to support the unit. Reorganizes and relabels PAR rooms in cooperation with unit needs. Updates the PARs after item deployment, item conversion, and/or request for adding and removing item by unit or management. Collaborates with clinical staff to manage inventory by adjusting par levels when necessary. Reviews and troubleshoots items that are regularly missed in scan, and/or items that are continually running low and make needed corrections. Assists units with PAR room relocations, new setup and bin/ label accuracy to ensure no disruptions in service. Participates in regular cycle inventory reconciliation. Communicates changes in inventory or incidences of unavailable inventory to the supply chain and/or clinical teams
Decision Making: The carrying out of non-routine procedures under constantly changing conditions, in conformance with general instructions from supervisor.
Working Relationships: Works with internal and/or external customers via telephone or face to face interaction. Works with other healthcare professionals and staff.
