SENIOR DEBURRING TECHNICIAN

As a Senior Deburring Technician for Rocket Lab, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and precision of additive-manufactured parts used to build the Rutherford and Archimedes engines. In this senior-level position, you will bring your expertise in part finishing, welding fit-up, and quality assurance to support and mentor a team of technicians, optimize processes, and ensure the highest standards of craftsmanship in our manufacturing operations.

WHAT YOU’LL GET TO DO:

Perform and support deburring and finishing operations for additive-manufactured, machined, cast, forged, or printed parts.
Collaborate with engineering teams to refine finishing processes and ensure parts meet strict aerospace standards.
Train and mentor junior technicians to develop their skills and maintain consistent quality across the team.
Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area while adhering to safety protocols.
Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and precision in part finishing.
Support the welding department with fitting and weld-prepping welded assemblies.
Assist with Research & Development (R&D) and New Product Introduction (NPI) for parts entering the deburring department.

YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or Technical Certificate.
8+ years of experience in part finishing (machined, cast, forged, or printed).
Proven expertise in working with high-strength steels and Inconel alloys.
Familiarity with TIG, laser, welding fit-up techniques.
Knowledge of advanced finishing techniques for aerospace components.

THESE QUALIFICATIONS WOULD BE NICE TO HAVE:

Experience with additive manufacturing or investment casting.
Knowledge of advanced finishing techniques for aerospace components.
Experience in optimizing manufacturing workflows and processes.
Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with the ability to guide and train junior team members.
