Shift: days
What you will do:
- Responsible for Joint Commission Compliance of medication processes and inventory at MercyOne Medical Center Provider Based Clinics. Including creating the process for auditing and performing the audits at all locations.
- Responsible for 340B audits for MercyOne’s Contract Pharmacies and Provider Based Clinics which represents over one hundred locations and is growing. Designs and completes audits and assists with maintaining records for compliance for the pharmacy department.
- Responsible for invoice approvals and reconciliations for MercyOne Contract Pharmacies.
- Completes standard administrative processes such as timecard assistance, mail processing, filing, faxing, scanning, copying, proof-reading, typing, meeting minutes, ordering office supplies, scheduling meetings, creating the monthly department newsletter and organizing as needed. Responsible for new employee orientation including preparing and presenting new employee packets including review of pharmacy policies and procedures, checklist orientation, new employee access setup and verification and aiding in preparation of training schedules. Also including coordination of creation and upkeep of training videos and modules for pharmacists and technicians.
- Prepares patient drug orders, delivers medications, restocks automated medication dispensing machine, restocks tackle boxes and cart inserts (with proper checks performed by a pharmacist as required by law) Performs a variety of medication inventory-related tasks including: communication of stock utilization and ordering needs; assisting with reordering; checking of expiration dating with alerts to pharmacists when needed; and rotating and restocking; and cleaning counters, medication drawers, carts, shelves and equipment. Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms.
- Performs other job functions as directed by Market Director of Pharmacy.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- National Pharmacy Technician Certification
- Registered as a Certified Pharmacy Technician with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy at time of hire.
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Certified Pharmacy Tech
- Certified Pharmacy Tech experience in a hospital setting preferred
