The Occupational Therapy Assistant, under the direction of an Occupational Therapist, treats injury, disease, and other conditions of health. Occupational Therapy Assistants provide therapeutic interventions to improve deficits noted in the areas of Activities of Daily Living, allowing for a better quality of life for their patients.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Follows plan of care as documented by occupational therapist to treat patients in Occupational performance areas
  • Schedules patients, maintains written and verbal communication regarding patient and departmental concerns, submits accurate billing information within insurance restrictions
  • Participates in rotations in all clinical areas
  • Participates in teaching, including annual in service to peers
  • Participates as a clinical supervisor for OT students
  • Supervises OT assistants
  • Promotes and contributes to all sanitary and housekeeping policies which are designed to maintain the cleanliness and readiness of all clinic and general staff areas
  • Participates in department quality improvement activities


Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in Occupational Therapy
    - required
  • Acute Care or inpatient rehabilitation experience - preferred
  • Written and Verbal communication (High proficiency)
  • Board Certification
    Upon Hire - required
  • BLS certified
    Upon Hire - required
  • State licensure/registration
    Upon Hire - required
