About the role
The Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Technologist of Urgent Care operates Franciscan’s MRI scanners to create 3D images of a patient's body tissues, which are used by physicians and other healthcare professionals as an aid to diagnosis. The MRI Technologist maintains optimum proficiency and safety during the execution of duties, and works closely with patients to ensure they have an understanding of MRI procedures and are comfortable during procedures.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT
Monday to Friday 7am to 4pm
Position does not require taking call or holidays
Screen patients for any metal prior to all MRI procedures, to assure the patient's safety
Consult with radiologists and referring physician prior to the patient's procedure, to assure exams are appropriately tailored to the patient's needs
Properly position the patient on the scan table utilizing the appropriate coil and complete the procedure utilizing established protocols, to provide a high-quality diagnostic procedure
Document the patient's clinical history, prepare the MRI folder, and accurately log every exam, including scanning parameters, to provide clinical correlation of exams ordered and accurate patient records
Perform venipuncture, utilizing universal precautions and OSHA guidelines, in order to administer contrast materials
Prefer Experienced tech, strong patient care skills, ability to work as a team with other staff
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Relevant Advanced Degree MRI OR Associate's Degree Radiology
Required Magnetic Resonance Imaging (ARRT-MR) - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
Required Basic Life Support Program (BLS) - American Heart Association
2 years MRI Experience Preferred
