Overview
Defence is one of AtkinsRéalis’ most critical global growth markets, with significant untapped opportunity across regions, clients, and programmes. The Growth Manager – Global Defence will play a key role in achieving growth by shaping priority pursuits and enabling cross‑regional collaboration.
Operating within the Global Defence growth team, the role works closely with Defence growth stakeholders, regional Defence teams, Key Account Managers, and sector and practice leaders to materialise qualified pipeline and revenue. This role is primarily focused on driving revenue growth, with a strong emphasis on executing growth initiatives across specified clients, campaigns, or themes within the global Defence portfolio. Additionally, it requires adaptability as needed, to contribute to other deliverables arising from a high speed/high growth environment.
Your role
Priority Responsibilities
- Drive the progression of Defence pipeline within defined global clients, campaigns, or market segments.
- Work with regional Defence teams and KAMs to shape cross‑regional opportunities aligned with global Defence growth priorities.
- Play a key role in selected major pursuits or campaigns, including opportunity qualification, shaping, and progression through governance.
- Support senior engagement by developing client insight, mapping stakeholder landscapes, and contributing to relationship strategies.
Enabling Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development and execution of global and regional Defence growth strategies.
- Support the delivery of selected global Key Account Plans, with a focus on unlocking international opportunities and cross‑regional collaboration.
- Support regional teams in the pursuit of major and strategic Defence bids, including:
- Development of differentiated value propositions and win themes.
- Competitive and market positioning.
- Coordination of inputs across regions, practices, and functions.
- Support to teaming, partner selection, and engagement strategies.
- Deliver structured analysis and insight on Defence clients, competitors, partners, market trends, and upcoming opportunities.
- Build strong working relationships across Defence, regional growth teams, sectors, practices, marketing, and the wider growth community.
- Track pipeline, pursuits, and performance against agreed KPIs, escalating risks and opportunities to senior Defence growth leadership as required.

- Contribution to global and regional Defence pipeline development in line with agreed growth plans Growth and progression of pipeline within assigned global accounts and campaigns Participation in and success of priority Defence pursuits and bids.
About you
Essential Requirements
- Strong commercial awareness with experience supporting or leading complex, high‑value business development and pursuit activity.
- Proven ability to operate effectively in a matrixed, multinational professional services environment.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across functions, regions, and seniority levels.
- Analytical and structured thinker, able to translate complex and ambiguous information into insights and actions.
- Demonstrated track record in growth, business development, sales, or pursuit leadership within engineering or professional services.
- Highly organised, adaptable, and comfortable managing multiple priorities concurrently.
- Willingness to travel nationally and internationally as required.
Desirable Requirements
- Experience in the Defence sector, including familiarity with Defence clients, procurement models, and competitive dynamics.
- Experience contributing to major bid campaigns, framework pursuits, or long‑cycle sales environments.
