Make a real difference to people’s experience at work
At Bristol Myers Squibb, we’re transforming patients’ lives through science. Behind every breakthrough is a team of people - and those people need great HR support.
As an HR Advisor in our People Services team, you’ll play a key role in shaping that experience. You’ll be a trusted partner, helping employees and leaders navigate important moments with confidence, clarity, and care.
What you’ll do
You’ll be the go-to person for HR advice - supporting employees and leaders across the full employee lifecycle. Whether it’s guidance on a workplace situation, help during a key career moment, or a policy-related question, you’ll provide clear, practical, and people-focused solutions.
You’ll:
- Support “moments that matter” across the employee journey, ensuring a consistent and positive experience
- Manage HR enquiries and cases end-to-end, working across teams to deliver timely, high-quality outcomes
- Ensure actions are well-documented, compliant, and aligned with service standards and employment legislation
Work smarter with digital and AI tools
You’ll use approved AI and digital tools to help you work efficiently -triaging enquiries, finding information, drafting responses, and summarising case notes.
At the same time, you’ll apply your judgement to:
- Validate outputs for accuracy, tone, and compliance
- Ensure safe and responsible handling of data and confidentiality
- Provide feedback to improve tools and user experience
- Support and coach others in using AI effectively
Improve how HR works
This role goes beyond handling cases - you’ll actively improve how HR services are delivered.
You’ll:
- Identify recurring issues and address root causes
- Analyse enquiry trends and service data to drive improvements
- Improve knowledge content (FAQs, templates, guidance) to make it clearer and easier to use
- Help build a strong “single source of truth” that supports self-service and AI-enabled solutions
Collaborate and influence
You’ll work closely with:
- HR experts (ER, Legal, Reward, Payroll, Talent)
- People Services leaders
- External partners and vendors
You’ll ensure information stays accurate, aligned, and up to date across systems - while influencing improvements and sharing frontline insights.
What you’ll gain
Real variety and impact
No two days are the same. You’ll work across a global environment, building expertise in employment law, complex cases, and HR best practice.
The opportunity to improve - not just maintain
You won’t just follow processes - you’ll shape and improve them, influencing how HR services evolve.
Future-ready skills
HR is changing, and you’ll be part of that change. You’ll gain hands-on experience using AI in HR, learning how to apply it responsibly and effectively.
Work that matters
From onboarding to complex situations, you’ll support people at key moments -making a real difference to their experience at work.
A collaborative, quality-driven team
You’ll join a team that cares deeply about doing things right, working together to deliver consistent, high-quality HR support.
What you’ll bring
- Bachelor's degree in HR or a recognised HR certification (or equivalent experience)
- 4+ years of HR advisory or HR Services experience
- Strong knowledge of HR policies and employment law (EMEA experience is a plus)
- Confidence handling complex or sensitive cases with sound judgement
- Proven ability to manage cases end-to-end with ownership and accountability
- Experience working with HR systems (e.g. Workday), case management and knowledge tools
- Comfort using digital and AI-assisted tools, with a strong focus on validating outputs for accuracy, quality, and compliance
- Understanding of knowledge management practices (e.g. maintaining FAQs, templates, guidance content)
- A curious, improvement-driven mindset - you identify patterns and take action
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate insights into practical improvements
- Clear and effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- A collaborative approach, with the ability to coach and support others
- Experience working in a multicultural / multi-country environment
- Additional language skills are an advantage
A quick note on AI tools
You don’t need a technical background. You’ll use AI tools to work more efficiently-and over time, you’ll help improve how they’re used across the team.
It’s about combining technology with judgement, responsibility, and care for people.
