Senior Environmental Health & Safety Consultant - Certified Industrial Hygienist

 

Triumvirate Environmental, one of the largest environmental services firms in North America, is seeking a Senior Environmental Health & Safety Consultant, CIH (Certified Industrial Hygienist) for our New England team. 

This highly motivated individual will provide guidance on Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) regulations and best practices to ensure workplace compliance and risk mitigation.  This role involves staying up to date with regulatory requirements, analyzing data to improve safety performance, and advising clients on sustainable and compliant operational practices.  In addition, this individual will design and lead industrial hygiene projects, as well as mentor other EHS Consultants in the practice of industrial hygiene activities.

This position reports to a Regional EHS Director.  This role is onsite at assigned clients in the greater Boston area and is based out of our Somerville, MA office. 

Essential responsibilities:

  • Measure occupational and environmental hazards, such as noise and ergonomics, using calibrated scientific equipment and/or collecting samples of dust, vapors, or gases according to a defined operating procedure.
  • Measure the effectiveness of engineered control systems such as fume hoods.
  • Participate in the inspection and examination of machinery and equipment, such as lifting devices, machine guards, or scaffolding.
  • Conduct workplace safety inspections according to a defined procedure, evaluating the use of personal protective equipment, such as respirators, respirators, protective eyewear, or hardhats, according to applicable regulations. These inspections of the workplace will involve talking with workers and observing their work.
