Overview
AtkinsRéalis, one of the worlds’ leading engineering design consultancies with a strong reputation in the Geotechnical Engineering Sector, having the breadth and depth of expertise to respond to the most technically challenging and time critical infrastructure projects.
In the infrastructure and transportation sectors we have a rapidly expanding workload and an exciting portfolio of roads, rail, water and building development projects. As such we are seeking a Geotechnical Apprentice Engineer to take a leading role in our strong geotechnical team.
Your role
- Analytical skills to assess complex problems and deliver appropriate solutions.
- Design of modular and embedded retaining walls, slope stability analysis & pile group analysis.
- Conversant with geotechnical analysis software like PLAXIS 2D/3D, GEOSTUDIO SUITE, WALLAP or FREW, PDISP and REPUTE.
- Experience of soil structure interaction work and numerical analysis would be an advantage.
- Excellent written and spoken English within a business environment.
About you
- The successful applicant will be a employed as Apprentice Geotechnical Engineer with a proven technical and project management track record.
- A strong academic background with a post graduate degree in Soil Mechanics, or Foundation or Ground Engineering or Civil engineering (Geotechnical specialization) or PhD in a relevant subject.
- Ability to work independently with minimum support from seniors.
- Proven experience of acting as a geotechnical engineer in a fast-moving engineering consultancy environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and technical skills.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence to liaise with international clients.
- Excellent report writing skills with the ability to self-check and produce accurate work.
- A flair for innovation.
- A willingness to travel on short term assignments both within India and overseas.
