The Opportunity
Netflix seeks deep subject matter expertise in Live Sports media management. You will be a bridge between Live Sports Content, Production Management, Product, Engineering, suppliers, and external production teams, using your expertise to help our team execute on business requirements, scale media delivery workflows, ensure the success of our productions, and support downstream teams. Your understanding of this domain will allow you to identify underlying technical dependencies of stakeholder needs and opportunities to up-level media operations.
Your work will consist of:

- Shaping operational strategy for Live Sports media delivery.
- Production setup and onboarding to Media Asset Management (MAM) systems.
- Supporting and troubleshooting for users delivering Live Sports media.

- Serving as "a voice of the user" for Product and Engineering teams, by identifying and communicating the technical requirements of creative and production needs.
- Collaborating with suppliers and providing feedback on tooling to help identify opportunities for improvement.
- Aiding in solution and new tool discovery, including support for proof-of-concept efforts.
Success looks like production readiness for major events, stakeholders confidence in our Live Sports media management capabilities, scalable and frictionless media delivery operations, including comprehensive documentation and training.
Key Responsibilities
Scaling media delivery operations
Build operational strategies that ensure readiness for Live Sports events, delivery specifications for new media types, user guides specific to the Netflix Live Sports media management, and internal training materials.
Providing expert strategic consultancy to cross-functional partners
Leverage subject matter expertise to “connect the dots” between content, production, technical teams, and external suppliers, ensuring that user needs are captured in system and tool development. You will also ensure that systems and workflows built for Live Sports Media Management align with industry best practices to ensure efficiency and interoperability.
Discovery and testing
Work hand-in-hand with stakeholders to evaluate new tools and systems that support production media delivery. This will include standing up “proof of concepts” and comprehensively capturing results. You will also help ensure that Netflix product and technology teams have context necessary for successful integration of third party solutions where appropriate.
Vendor management

Supporting Live Sports media management system operations

Training and onboarding
Onboard external and internal users to Live Sports media delivery systems, managing permissions and creating documentation and learning resources to ensure that user training is scalable.
Production support and issue escalation
Leverage experience to inform support models being developed by the company for systems supporting Live Sports events. This role may need to provide direct issue triage for critical and time-sensitive production media management issues.

Awareness of best practices for handling original camera footage file formats, including color management and data verification.
Experience working within host broadcast environments, managing multilateral and unilateral feeds, and ensuring workflow compatibility with third-party media management systems.

Strong familiarity with automated video and audio analysis tools in Live Sports workflows, including transcription, translation, person recognition, OCR, logo detection, and key play detection.
