Summary
Performs as a clinician providing individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy for child, adolescent, adult, and/or Substance Abuse patients and maintains competency and licensure as delineated through education, experience and tests.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Major Job Functions
The following is a summary of the major essential functions of this job. The incumbent may perform other duties, both major and minor, that are not mentioned below. In addition, specific functions may change from time to time:
Provides individual, family, and/or group psychotherapy/psychoeducation to patients
Provides crisis intervention as needed
Evaluate and treat individuals with substance use disorders
Prepares assessment and ongoing evaluation for further treatment
Maintains proper contacts with agency/support systems of patients
Completes all required documentation fully and in a timely manner
Performs supervision when needed or requested
Engages in peer review activities to determine compliance with policies and regulatory requirements
Participates in service line business/planning meetings
Participates in service line marketing programs
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
The following qualifications, or equivalents, are the minimum requirements necessary to perform the essential functions of this job:
Education and Formal Training:
Master’s degree in Social Work or related degree required
PhD Psychology preferred
Fully licensed in area of education required
Licensure as MSW/LCSW or LP required
LCAS or LCAS-A preferred
Substance Abuse clinical supervision required
Work Experience:
Extensive previous practice in outpatient and/or inpatient mental health facility preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Skills in providing individual, family and/or group therapy to children, adolescents, adults and Substance Abuse patients
Working knowledge of basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Outlook and Internet browsing and search retrieval
Physical Requirements:
Required to work shifts that may include weekends and holidays
Ability to see, hear, read
Manual ability to use telephones, video equipment and computer keyboard
Ability to move throughout all departments of the Medical Center
Effectively communicate orally to patients, family members, personnel and physicians
