About the Role
The Accounts Receivable Officer is responsible for managing the end‑to‑end Accounts Receivable (AR) function to ensure accurate billing, timely collections, and strong customer account management. Working within a lean Finance team, this role will not only own core AR activities but also support broader finance operations as needed. Success in this role requires attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
What You'll Do
Prepare, issue, and reconcile customer invoices and credit notes in line with company policies.
Monitor customer accounts to ensure timely collection of outstanding balances.
Conduct regular account reconciliations, follow up on overdue invoices, and resolve discrepancies.
Maintain accurate AR records, ageing schedules, and customer master data.
Process and allocate customer payments, ensuring accuracy across all systems.
Act as the primary point of contact for AR‑related customer inquiries.
Complete bank reconciliation for all Accounts Receivable – related transactions.
Support month‑end close activities including AR reporting, reconciliations, and audit support.
Supporting AP tasks such as invoice entry, payment runs, and vendor inquiries when needed.
Assisting with bank reconciliations and general ledger postings.
Providing data, reports, or documentation for internal stakeholders, auditors, and leadership.
Participating in process improvement initiatives to streamline financial workflows.
Supporting system enhancements, testing, or implementation of new finance tools.
What You Bring
Some knowledge and/or experience in Accounts Receivable or a similar finance role.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Xero or similar).
Strong proficiency in Excel and familiarity with financial reporting tools.
Understanding of accounting principles (AR/AP/GL).
Experience in a consumer goods, retail, or distribution environment is desirable but not required.
High attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organisational and time‑management skills.
Ability to communicate clearly with internal teams and external customers.
Proactive problem‑solver with the ability to work in fast‑paced and lean environments.
Collaborative mindset with flexibility to support broader Finance tasks
