What is the opportunity?
The primary functions of the Operations Specialist I desk are the processing of the department’s complex voluntary corporate actions. These offers often involve bankruptcies, optional dividends, issues that are held at multiple or foreign custodians, offers that require the submission of paperwork to the transfer agent, or deals with other types of complicated terms and options. The desk also serves as a backup for the department’s team lead and technical team leads.
What will you do?
- Department lead on the processing of the higher risk, more complex voluntary corporate actions. These offers often cannot be facilitated by the system and involve manual processing of instructions, reconciliation, and allocations.
- Department subject matter expert for clients, management and less experienced associates with a full understanding of all corporate action procedures, events, and market practices.
- Expert understanding of how department processing impacts clients, and other areas in the firm.
- Supports and promotes firm and department initiatives setting clear goals and expectations for the workgroup.
- Performing double-checks on processed voluntary and mandatory corporate actions by reviewing booking for accuracy before the postings of entitlement to client accounts.
- Contribute ideas and recommendations to improve department process efficiencies and mitigate risk.
- Back up for department team lead and technical team lead roles when necessary.
- Assist with other projects and activities as assigned by supervisor or manager.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-Have
- Ability to quickly analyze complex problem situations and provide solutions without direction.
- Keen attention to detail, with a zero tolerance for clerical errors.
- Work efficiently in high-pressure situations involving uncertainty or lack of information.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related field preferred.
- Minimum of one year experience processing corporate actions or dividends.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
Nice-To-Have
- Experience using advanced Microsoft Office techniques (Excel, Access)
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, business or related field.
- Previous experience processing corporate actions on the Broadridge BPS system.
- Working knowledge of industry regulations surrounding corporate actions, settlement and liabilities.

The good-faith expected salary range for the above position is $50,000 - $80,000 depending on factors including but not limited to the candidate’s experience, skills, registration status; market conditions; and business needs. This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan.
