Job Description:
The SPD Educator coordinates all education for Sterile Processing. The role includes assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating education and training of the Sterile Processing staff. They will also be accountable for ensuring staff professional development and credentials as well as coordinating the research, education, in-service and evaluation on new products and equipment.Education:
▪ Required: High school or equivalent Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in related field OR Graduate of school of Surgical Technology
Experience:
▪ Required: 6 months of Sterile Processing experience
Skills:
▪ Excellent communication skills, verbal, non-verbal and written, including public speaking
▪ Computer skills in Microsoft office suite
▪ Healthstream computer application
▪ Use of audio/video equipment, laptops
▪ Organized, self-motivated with an attention to
Licensure/Certification/Registration:
▪ Required: CRCST or CBSPD
▪ Preferred: CST and/or CIS
