Key/Essential Functions & Responsibilities
  • Promotes and maintains the excellence of assigned YAI/CST and/or PHC Article 16 programs or functions by assisting with oversight and ensuring compliance of systems specific to scheduling.

  • Ensures a work environment that is free from harassment and discrimination.

  • Reviews referrals for insurance and program eligibility and/or manages referrals in registration through prioritizing, tracking and delegating based on need.

  • Tracks and monitors related PHC referrals from NextGen to and/or in IDX and manages tracking of referrals for scheduling or triaging, as required.

  • Provides Article 16 staff coverage, performing scheduling-related duties, as needed.

  • Works with supervisor to coordinate with appropriate clinical groups to manage related services/requests and availability of timeslots or ensure appropriate workflows and/or maintains caseload review in coordination with clinical supervisors.

  • Remains current with updates from fiscal department on eligibility and insurance and communicates to scheduling staff, as needed.

  • Involves family members and other stakeholders, including professionals, in the team process.

  • Fosters communication between relevant supports including those within the program, within the agency, and supports outside the agency.

  • May assist with generation of NextGen referral reports and reporting to appropriate managers.

  • May participate in Article 16 audit preparation.

  • Performs all related work, as assigned.

Minimum Qualification Requirements including education, experience, licensure/certification, etc. and essential physical capabilities (e.g. lifting, assisting lifting, standing, etc.)

  • High School Diploma/GED; and

  • At least two years of experience related to scheduling, admissions or similar area(s), including customer service experience; and

  • Ability to meet essential physical demands of position, including walking; using hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; sitting and standing

  • Strong computer skills, including the ability to learn/use Workforce Management and Electronic Health Record (EHR) software to effectively carry out essential business processes

  • Interpersonal and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent phone etiquette

  • Well-developed writing skills

  • Great attention to detail

  • The ability to accept and apply feedback

  • Highly flexible personality type

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Preferred Qualification Requirements (desired requirements beyond MQRs above)

  • Previous experience working with individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities and/or in mental health discipline

  • Knowledge of OPWDD Article 16 eligibility requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences, Human Services or related area

  • Verbal and/or written fluency in Spanish

Schedule: 9am to 5pm or 10am 6pm

Pay rate: $17.00 per hour
