About the role

Biomedical Scientist in Haematology/Blood Transfusion

Banding: Band 6

Location: London

Start Date: ASAP

Duration: Ongoing

Working hours (including any weekends/night shifts):

· Early shift (08:00 - 16:30)
· Day shift
· Late shift
· Weekends (1 in 4 or 5 weeks) - early/ late shift cover
· Occasional night cover (20:00 - 08:00)

Hourly Rate: £28-30

We are currently seeking a Band 6 Biomedical Scientist specialising in Haematology/Blood Transfusion to join our client’s team in London. This is a full-time, ongoing position working core hours only, offering a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to contribute to a busy and well-established laboratory service.

Key Responsibilities

You will perform full blood counts, coagulation studies, and blood film morphology. You will ensure accurate analysis, maintain quality control, and collaborate with clinical teams.

Qualifications and Experience

- HCPC registration

- Degree in Biomedical Science or equivalent

- Experience in Haematology/Blood Transfusion within a clinical laboratory

- Experience with Essential skills/experience: Extensive BT experience, preferably experience with Orth Connect analysers, morphology experience, Sysmex XN and CN3000 analysers.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

- NHS experience (required)
