Join our team in Janu Tokyo. Janu Tokyo is the first chapter in our story. The only hotel within Tokyo’s Azabudai Hills––an area alive with creativity, exceptional bars, eateries and an affecting energy that inspires new kinds of joy.With 122 guest rooms, eight dining and entertainment venues and a 4,000 sqm wellness centre. Janu Tokyo provides a gateway to Tokyo’s best attractions, just steps away from the neighbourhoods of Roppongi and Toranomon.

Role

We are seeking a highly experienced, strategic and results-driven Director of Wellness to lead the wellness team at Janu Tokyo. This role is suited for a senior professional with a strong track record in luxury hospitality who is passionate about delivering world-class wellness experiences. As Director of Wellness, you will be responsible for the overall leadership, strategic direction and performance of the wellness operation, ensuring exceptional guest satisfaction, operational excellence and sustainable business growth. Working closely with the Hotel Manager and executive leadership team, you will drive innovation, elevate service standards and cultivate a high-performing team culture aligned with Janu’s vision of excellence and authentic hospitality.

 

Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and full operational oversight of all Wellness functions, ensuring alignment with brand standards and business objectives
  • Drive overall performance of the Wellness division, including revenue growth, profitability and guest satisfaction
  • Establish and enforce the highest standards of service excellence across all wellness facilities and offerings
  • Lead, inspire and develop a high-performing Wellness team, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
  • Oversee financial planning, budgeting and forecasting, ensuring effective cost control and revenue optimisation
  • Analyse performance metrics and implement strategies to achieve and exceed financial targets
  • Develop and execute innovative wellness concepts, programs and partnerships to enhance guest experience and brand positioning
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, suppliers and partners
  • Oversee recruitment, succession planning, talent development and organisational structure within the department
  • Ensure full compliance with all policies, safety regulations, hygiene standards and sustainability initiatives

 

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of progressive experience in wellness within luxury hotels, hospitality groups or equivalent high-end service environments, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role
  • Extensive operational and strategic knowledge of wellness, spa management and luxury guest experience
  • Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth, profitability and business transformation initiatives
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills with a proven ability to lead large, diverse teams
  • Strong financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting and performance analysis at a departmental or divisional level
  • Ability to set and maintain the highest service standards in a fast-paced, luxury environment
  • Advanced business-level English proficiency (CEFR C1 or higher)
  • Advanced business-level Japanese proficiency (CEFR C1 or higher)
  • Advanced PC skills including MS Office and professional documentation capabilities
