Job Description

Your role

We are seeking a 4D Construction Simulation Specialist to support construction sequencing, constructability analysis, and project planning for complex infrastructure and industrial projects. The successful candidate will focus on developing and maintaining 4D models that integrate schedules with 3D design data to improve construction planning, risk mitigation, and on-site execution.

This role is best suited for someone with hands-on experience in construction sequencing, BIM-based planning, and coordination who is interested in growing their expertise in digital construction methodologies. Experience in advanced visualization or animation is considered an asset but is not required.

Your role

  • Develop and manage 4D construction simulations to support sequencing, phasing, and constructability reviews.
  • Integrate project schedules with 3D/BIM models to visualize construction progress and logistics.
  • Support constructability analysis, work packaging, and risk identification through 4D workflows.
  • Collaborate with construction planners, engineers, and project teams to validate sequencing strategies.
  • Support planning workshops, coordination meetings, and stakeholder reviews using 4D simulations.
  • Update 4D models to reflect design changes, schedule updates, or construction constraints.
  • Contribute to the development and standardization of 4D and digital construction workflows.

About you

  • 3–5 years of experience in 4D simulation, construction sequencing, BIM coordination, or construction planning.
  • Post-secondary education in engineering, construction management, BIM, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Strong understanding of construction methodologies, phasing, and site logistics.
  • Experience working with project schedules and design models in a coordinated environment.
  • Ability to interpret technical drawings, schedules, and construction documentation.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

4D Simulation & Planning (Required):

  • Bentley Synchro 4D, Navisworks, or equivalent 4D construction planning tools.
  • Integration of schedules (Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar) with 3D models.

BIM & Modeling (Preferred):

  • Revit, CATIA, Inventor, AutoCAD, or other BIM authoring tools.
  • Experience working with federated models and multidisciplinary coordination.

Visualization (Asset – Not Required):

  • Unreal Engine, Unity, Lumion, or 3ds Max.
  • Experience creating visual outputs for stakeholder or construction presentations.

Core Competencies:

  • Strong understanding of construction sequencing and constructability principles.
  • Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify construction risks early.
  • Clear communication skills for working with engineers, planners, and site teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and adapt to evolving project requirements.
  • Interest in learning new digital tools and improving construction planning workflows.

Language Requirements:

  • Proficiency in French and English, spoken and written, to support bilingual project teams and clients.
