Position Title: Junior Project Cost Estimator

Salary Range: $108,000 - $116,000

Location: Onsite (Los Angeles, CA)

Position: Junior Project Cost Estimator

Salary Range: $108,000 - $116,000

9.   Duties:

9.1  Prepare preliminary independent cost estimates of projects for comparison with designer or 
contractor for PM/CM to establish negotiating position.
9.2  Assist in preparing change order estimates for Owner Authorized Representatives to establish 
negotiating position
9.3  Provides support in price negotiations
9.4  Prepares claim analysis and estimates
9.5  Prepares detailed estimates of construction costs based on drawings, specifications and 
sketches
9.6  Assists in reviewing contractor’s claims and proposals for merit and accountability
9.7  Conducts research on recent cost and price changes in supplies and services


10.  Minimum Requirements Required Experience:
10.1 Two (2) years full-time paid professional experience in construction estimating of facilities 
or School Construction.
10.2 Knowledge of current local construction labor and material costs
10.3 Experience in developing and estimating the scope of work for change orders
10.4 Ability to compare the independent cost estimate with contractor proposal to identify 
differences
10.5 Ability to develop scope of work based on RFI/RFC answers and estimates the detailed costs of 
those scopes of work independent of the contractor proposal
10.6 Good oral and written communication skills
10.7 Fact-find and in-depth skills
10.8
Required Education:
10.9 Graduation from a recognized college or university with a bachelor’s degree in engineering,
architecture, engineering, or construction management
