Microsoft’s European Government Affairs (EGA) team serves as the company’s primary interface with European institutions, national governments, and strategic stakeholders across the region. Operating at the intersection of technology, policy, and business, EGA advances Microsoft’s public policy objectives by fostering trusted partnerships and supporting effective engagement on priority issues including cybersecurity, resilience, artificial intelligence, and digital transformation.
As the Brussels Embassy evolves into a central coordination and execution platform for Government Affairs activities across Europe, the operational load associated with events, executive engagements, and field enablement has increased significantly. Dedicated program leadership is required to ensure consistent, high‑quality execution of Embassy activities and scalable operational support to EGA teams across the EMEA region.
The EGA team in Brussels is seeking an Embassy Operations & EMEA Enablement Lead to support the professionalization and scaling of operational execution across the Brussels Embassy and CELA EMEA.
Responsibilities
The Embassy Operations & EMEA Enablement Lead is a senior individual contributor responsible for supporting and scaling operational execution for the Brussels Embassy and across CELA EMEA.
The role leads complex, cross‑team programs spanning events, content production, engagement enablement, and AI‑driven workflows, acting as an execution partner to policy and leadership teams. It supports Brussels‑based engagement activities while enabling coordination, alignment, and delivery across EGA teams in European capitals.
Working closely with stakeholders across Corporate External & Legal Affairs (CELA), in particular Microsoft Government Affairs (MGA), corporate functions, and EMEA field teams, this role contributes to the development of repeatable operating practices and also supports the adoption of AI‑enabled workflows that enhance operational effectiveness across the region.
Qualifications
Embassy Operations & Program Delivery
- Support day‑to‑day operational execution of the Brussels Embassy engagement framework.
- Translate Embassy Model principles into repeatable operating practices, including templates, and delivery standards.
- Contribute to reducing operational load on policy leadership through effective cross-team support desk functions.
Events & EMEA Field Enablement
- Provide project leadership support for Brussels Embassy events and engagements.
- Develop reusable event toolkits that can be deployed by EGA teams across European markets.
- Partner with policy leads to ensure alignment between engagement objectives and delivery of events.
- Support capital‑based teams through intake and coordination mechanisms aligned with the EMEA GA Support Desk model.
Content & Engagement Enablement
- Support media production and content enablement for Embassy engagements, including video, visual, and written outputs.
- Contribute to the development of fast‑turn content pipelines aligned with engagement priorities.
- Ensure consistency in quality, branding, and narrative alignment with CELA priorities.
- Enable reuse of Brussels‑generated assets across EMEA engagements.
Internal Collaboration & Operational Support
- Support intake, prioritization, and coordination of operational support requests through the EMEA GA Support Desk.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders across policy, communications, legal, and business teams to enable effective execution of regional initiatives.
- Coordinate across CELA, MGA, corporate, and EMEA field teams to support seamless engagement delivery.
AI‑Enabled Workflow Adoption
- Support adoption of AI‑enabled productivity tools, including Copilot, across GA operational workflows.
- Contribute to the development of prompt libraries, knowledge management practices, and best‑practice sharing across EMEA.
- Support training and enablement initiatives to enhance operational effectiveness across Government Affairs teams.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Policy, Communications, Business Administration, International Relations, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
- Demonstrated experience supporting complex, cross‑organizational operations
- Proficient knowledge in AI‑enabled productivity tools or workflow optimization.
- Experience in event management, engagement delivery, content enablement, or operational coordination in a policy, public affairs, or corporate environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams in a fast‑paced and matrixed organizational setting.
- Strong organizational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in government affairs, public policy, or corporate external engagement contexts.
- Familiarity with operational support models or shared service delivery.
- Experience supporting executive‑level engagements or stakeholder events.
