At Elekta, we are united by a common purpose – improving and saving lives through innovative medical technology. We are now looking for an experienced and independent accounting professional to take ownership of end‑to‑end accounting processes for Poland and selected EMEA entities.
This role offers full independence, broad exposure to financial and management accounting, and a strong impact on process excellence, compliance, and continuous improvement across the region.
Your Role
You will be fully responsible for day‑to‑day accounting activities, supervising operational processes, ensuring compliance with local and international regulations, and driving improvement initiatives. You will act as a key partner to the Chief Accountant and Finance leadership, while collaborating closely with EMEA finance teams.
Key Responsibilities
Process & Operational Oversight
- Supervise accounting processes and operational issues across Polish and EMEA entities
- Identify, investigate, and resolve processing errors in assigned areas
- Escalate process or system‑related issues to the Chief Accountant
- Proactively recommend and implement process improvements with a focus on efficiency and capacity savings
- Maintain up‑to‑date procedures and accounting documentation
- Deliver high‑quality internal customer service in line with agreed standards
General Accounting & Reporting
- Coordinate accounting activities with Polish and EMEA finance teams to ensure timely and accurate close
- Review and approve journal entries
- Monitor financial position and performance; prepare financial analyses and management reports
- Reconcile and maintain general ledger accounts
- Coordinate monthly, quarterly, and year‑end closing processes
- Supervise fixed assets register and monthly depreciation
- Supervise reconciliation of intercompany balances
- Monitor and reconcile statutory vs. IFRS bridges
Tax & Statutory Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with Polish tax and accounting regulations; monitor legislative changes and propose tax optimizations
- Prepare VAT, VAT‑UE, and Intrastat reports
- Prepare CIT advance calculations and annual tax returns (CIT‑8, CIT‑10Z, IFT, ORD‑U, local taxes, deferred tax)
- Support Transfer Pricing documentation with financial data
- Support MDR (DAC‑6) reporting
- Manage tax audits and communication with tax authorities
- Prepare statutory financial statements
- Coordinate statutory audits and provide required documentation
- Handle reporting to the Polish National Bank (NBP) and Central Statistical Office (GUS)
Systems, Controls & Business Support
- Evaluate accounting ERP systems and recommend improvements in cooperation with IT
- Coordinate implementation and maintenance of internal financial controls
- Support Finance Manager in budgeting and forecasting processes
- Monitor expenditures and revenues, analyze variances, and report to management
- Participate in and lead cross‑team improvement projects
- Support other finance‑related initiatives as required
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in a senior accounting role, preferably in an international environment
- Strong knowledge of Polish accounting and tax regulations
- Experience with month‑end close, statutory reporting, and audits
- Ability to work independently and take full ownership of responsibilities
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
- Proactive mindset with a passion for process improvement
- Very good English (spoken and written)
