Highlights:

Summary: The Advanced Respiratory Therapy Clinical Educator shall be responsible to develop staff throughout Baptist Health by providing expertise as an Educator, Consultant, Facilitator, Change Agent, Leader, and Researcher in the area of Respiratory Therapy. The Educator will support the development of new and current staff, foster empowerment, and the development of knowledge through the use of evidence-based practice, relationship based care, SMART principles, and principles of adult learning. This individual will utilize the Benner Model to move staff through the continuum from novice to expert by utilizing assessment, development, planning, implementation, and evaluation of competency, continuing education, and leadership development. Additionally, the Educator will serve as a role model of professional behavior. This position may have additional duties assigned within scope of the role. Education / Experience:Graduate from a school of Respiratory Therapy, Bachelor's degree required in a health science related field, Master's degree preferred. Demonstrated experience as a Respiratory Therapist of at least 3 years required and educational experience in the clinical or academic setting preferred. License/Certification: Active ASBRT RRT license required, NBRC RRT required, BLS required, additional certifications (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc) may be required depending upon area assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
• Knowledge of principles of adult education
• Evidence of commitment to continuing education
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Ability to develop curriculum and teach in a classroom setting

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements: Position requires sitting for 30% of the workday and mobility 70% of the workday.
There is occasional stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching.
There is frequent reaching, use of hands and repetitive action.
Requires occasional lifting or carrying up to 15 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 150 pounds.
There is a continuous need for speaking with clear diction and hearing sensitivity in conversation either by phone or in person.
Continuous visual acuity at close and distant range.
Inside protected from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature changes. Minimal noise levels.
Much exposure to computer work.
Occasional exposure to risk of electrical shock.
Some exposure to infectious disease while performing job-related tasks.
Some exposure to hazardous chemicals. Occasional exposure to radiation.
