JOB DUTIES: Scope, design, operate, day-to-day services and implement transportation service solutions.  Coordinate problem resolution with Caterpillar facilities and approved Service Providers with regards to transportation services.  Identify, develop and administer the implementation of improved transportation methods that support Caterpillar's cost and service objectives and goals, to ensure best results for Caterpillar. Incumbent identifies, develops, leads and executes the implementation of transportation projects that support Caterpillar's cost and service objectives, to ensure best results for Caterpillar.

 Identifies, investigates, and resolves problems with shipments to ensure accurate and on-time delivery to facilities, and develops initiatives to improve service and lower cost.  Manages the performance of these Service Providers through Key Performance Indicators to meet cost and service performance expectations from Caterpillar facilities, Suppliers and Distribution Centers. Identifies, analyzes, develops and implements improved transportation methods that support Caterpillar's quality, velocity and cost objectives.  Identifies areas of possible cost savings or improvements in service, associated with the contracted Service Providers.  Coordinates impact analysis and implementation of cost-effective solutions with Providers. To coordinate and provide expertise for various PSLD Logistics regional and global transportation modeling and management projects to support internal and external Clients.

• Accountable for Velocity and visibility of International Inbound & Outbound and Ground Transportation.
• Manage Domestic Inbound and Outbound Transportation operations across multiple manufacturing and distribution locations in India.
• Ensure on-time delivery, optimized freight flows, and uninterrupted production support through proactive transportation planning and execution. Govern daily transportation activities including load planning, exception management, and service recovery
• Lead Control Team responsible for execution, monitoring, issue resolution and performance reporting. Establish clear roles to ensure high-velocity and predictable transportation operations.
• Govern Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) such as on-time pickup, on-time delivery, cost per kilogram, transit variability, detention and damages.
• Lead carrier performance reviews, corrective action plans and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Manage & Control activities related to Customs clearance & Transportation activities for all import / export shipments and related Ground Transportation operations.
• Liaisons with Government officials like Customs and Foreign Trade officials to maintain good relationships.
• Ensure strict adherence to trade compliance & legal requirements.
• Identifies and implements process improvement opportunities, root causes and corrective actions to reduce performance gaps within the transportation network.
• Drive BY Transportation Management System (TMS) utilization for planning, execution, freight settlement and analytics. Improve optimizer performance by fine-tuning lanes, rates, constraints and carrier capacities to enable cost-optimal routing decisions.
• Leverage BY TMS dashboards and analytics to provide actionable insights to operations and leadership.
• Provides analytical insights and reporting to leadership and internal customers to generate fact driven solutions and performance metric reporting.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors / Master’s in Supply Chain, Logistics stream
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Minimum of 6 to 8 years of responsible Import / Exports, Ground Transportation job experience
• Experience in Supply Chain / Logistics or Transportation Management
• Capable of working and communicating with a variety of company (all levels) and Supplier personnel
