More about the role

This is an exciting job opportunity for you as a Packaging Expert to join our Packaging Competence Center Team in Monterrey, Mexico.with Signify.

• Responsible for designing packaging and packaging concepts for products so that they comply with guidelines, marketing, manufacturing, logistic and quality conditions, and to the applicable law for environment and security at minimum total costs, in close cooperation with suppliers and relevant functions in the organization.

• Develop innovative and sustainable packaging strategies to meet company and client needs. Serve as the first point of contact for critical challenges or problems arising in their area of expertise and may often be part of action teams tasked to resolve specific tough issues.

• Monitor and maintain up to date overview of legal and sustainability regulations with reference to packaging materials, validate impact, deploy within organization, and safeguard it is embedded in project plans, guidelines, and designs.

• Drive constant research of packaging innovations and benchmark (materials, technology, process), identify trends, validate solutions, and translate them into packaging roadmaps and projects where relevant.

• Safeguard all necessary guidelines and testing standards for packaging design. Provide technical expertise and guidance to cross-functional teams on packaging design and optimization.

• Responsible for performing the packaging validation test and/or supervise and approve the packaging test from suppliers, ensure test reports comply with company´s requirements.

Leads the development and implementation of sustainable packaging solutions. Collaborates with cross-functional teams to optimize packaging processes and reduce costs. Ensures compliance with industry standards and regulations in all packaging activities.

While we value and appreciate all applicants, we believe that the following experience and skills will be needed to shine brightly in this job opening:

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design, Packaging Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or any related field.

• 5+ years of experience in packaging development and packaging design

• Expertise in packaging creation process, testing, validation, innovation, sustainability, materials, and understanding of graphic design principles, packaging regulations, and printing processes

• Stakeholder management skills, proactive approach and energy to take on challenges.

• Experience working in a multinational environment and virtual teams

• Good communication skills and ability to make customized presentations for different audiences. Fluency in Spanish and English is required.

• Experience using 3D Software (Auto-CAD, Solidworks, Picador, etc), Office
