Software Commissioning Engineering & Service Technician - Packaging

The Software Commissioning Engineering & Service Technician - Packaging will be part of the Assembly & Check Out Team and the role will maintain, repair and service customer production equipment and systems.

Key responsibilities:

• Set up and start packaging machines at customer sites

• Install, service and upgrade equipment in accordance with detailed instructions and work orders

• Perform functional tests

• Conduct routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns

• Maintain accurate service records so that the performance of equipment can be monitored

• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical or software issues.

• Ensure systems operate according to safety standards

• Provide technical support and troubleshooting guidance

• Document service activities and machine performance

• Punch list management with customers and resolution

To succeed in this role you should have/be:

• Technical Diploma in Automation or a related field

• Proven experience at least 3 years

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical components and automation.

• Proven hands-on experience with Siemens PLC programming using STEP 7, TIA Portal, and SIMOTION

• Ability to read technical drawings and schematics

• Able to manage multiple projects/orders simultaneously

• Fluent spoken and written both English and Italian a third language is a plus

• Open to travel at least 140 days per annum

• Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills

• Problem solving skills

• Goal-oriented and customer focus

• Able to work under pressure
