The Data Analytics Specialist role is a role responsible for providing insights and data support to stakeholders that enable data-driven actions. A Data Analytics Specialist is able to identify the relevant sources of information, apply analytical processes, and present data into a usable form to achieve business requirements. An effective specialist demonstrates both technical skills in analyzing data and soft skills in communicating findings and clarifying requirements with customers.
Main Responsibilities
Identifies business requirements through examining requests and/or case tickets
Determines the potential sources of data through exploring standard queries and existing available data tables
Identifies opportunities to expand available data tables
Gathering Data
Runs data extraction procedures, including running SQL-based queries and downloading standard reports, to gather the raw data required for analysis
Explores the multiple possible sources and gathers all required information to meet requirements
Data Preparation
Establishes links between various sources to combine available information into a cohesive data set
Identifies and errors and duplications from the data and provides recommendations on how to handle such occurrences
Applies statistical methods to eliminate noise and cleanse large data sets
Implements calculations to make data sets available for more advanced analytical processes
Data Analysis
Perform standard qualitative and quantitative analysis techniques to evaluate data
Develop ways of analyzing data to resolve non-standard reports, requiring additional intermediate to advanced complexity analysis
Generate calculated outcomes from the available data
Presentation
Organize findings into a standardized template to be presented to relevant customers
Presents data through standard visualization techniques using Business Intelligence tools such as Domo, Power BI, Oracle, and the like
Customer Engagement
Communicates findings with the customer
Explains methods of analysis to the customer where clarifications are required
Exhibits a customer-focused approach in anticipating the needs of the customer
Maintenance
Affirms the accuracy of data for standard reports
Identifies the requirement to update data connections and ensures that standard reports appear as expected
Additional Functions
Works with the Lead and Senior Lead Specialists to identify improvement opportunities
Other functions that may arise
Qualifications and Work Conditions
With educational background in Information Technology, Industrial Engineering, or any related course
Will have a hybrid setup and work on-site for thrice a week
Will have a mid shift schedule
