About the Project: To assist the National AIDS Control Program achieve 95 – 95 – 95 targets, the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) along with US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) India has been entrusted the responsibility of improving lifesaving HIV treatment activities, enhancing HIV case finding and providing critical HIV services in PEPFAR geographies in India. One such initiative is Project Sashakt implemented by PATH, which supports the National and State AIDS Control Program in Northeast (Manipur, Nagaland and Mizoram).

POSITION SUMMARY 

As a Senior Program Officer I you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and implementation of research and project(s) design. You will work with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful delivery of programs and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to achieve organization objectives.   
 

RESPONSIBILITIES/DELIVERABLES/JOB DUTIES 

  • You will design and implement public health programs that address global health needs and align with our organization's strategic goals. 

  • You will manage the day-to-day operations of assigned programs, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. 

  • You will develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including program partners, funders, and community organizations. 

  • You will conduct research and analysis to identify emerging public health issues and recommend appropriate interventions. 

  • You will monitor program outcomes and provide regular reports to internal and external stakeholders. 

  • You will ensure program compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards. 

  • You will develop and manage program evaluation plans to assess program effectiveness and make recommendations for improvement. 

  • You will conduct analysis of program services and create comprehensive reports. 

  • Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor to meet the needs of the organization. 

KNOWLEDGE & APPLICATION 

  • The Senior Program Officer I should have a deep understanding of public health principles and practices, as well as experience in program design, implementation, and management. The Senior Program Officer I should be able to apply this knowledge to develop innovative solutions to complex public health challenges. 

ADDITIONAL SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Experience in program design, implementation, and management in a public health setting. 

  • Strong project management skills, including budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically and develop creative solutions to complex issues. 

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment. 

  • Experience mentoring and training junior staff members. 

  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and ethical standards related to public health programming.
