About the role
Regional Indirect Buyer (MRO, Professional services, IT/Telecom or Digital, Facilities, Travel, etc.)
Key Responsibilities
Regional Sourcing & Procurement: Manage end-to-end procurement of indirect materials (consumables, spare parts, technical services) for multiple locations to ensure operational efficiency.
Cost Optimization & Savings: Develop and implement cost-reduction initiatives, negotiate supplier contracts, and optimize Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) across the region.
Supplier Relationship Management: Identify, onboard, and evaluate potential suppliers, conducting supplier performance reviews to ensure high-quality service, competitive pricing, and timely delivery.
Inventory Control: Monitor MRO inventory levels, set up stock levels in ERP systems, and identify opportunities to reduce obsolescence while maintaining necessary stocking levels.
Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with maintenance, engineering, production, and finance teams to understand requirements and align procurement strategies with plant performance goals.
Procurement Process & Compliance: Ensure adherence to company procurement policies, purchasing compliance requirements, and safety standards (e.g., EHS compliance).
Data Analysis: Use SAP/ERP tools to review purchasing patterns, generate expenditure reports, and analyze data to improve efficiency.
Job Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: 3–5+ years of experience in MRO procurement, indirect buying, or technical purchasing, preferably in a manufacturing or heavy industry setting.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in SAP (SAP-PM, SRM) or Oracle ERP systems, strong MS Excel skills, and experience with VMI
Soft Skills: Strong negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.
Languages: Excellent communication skills, usually requiring proficiency in English and local languages for the region.
