Job Objective


The Project Accounting (PA) function within ERM’s Finance organization partners closely with consulting teams to ensure the financial health and administration of client projects from initiation through billing and close. This function is critical to achieving ERM’s financial KPIs including Net Revenue (NR), PBBIT / EBITDA, and Working Capital efficiency.

ERM is seeking a Global O2C Lead – Project Accounting & Billing who will provide delivery leadership for project setup, master data maintenance, and billing execution from the Global Delivery Centre.

The role focuses on ensuring predictable, timely, and accurate delivery of services at scale, while acting as a key escalation and coordination point for Finance Project Partners (FPPs).
 

Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:


• Lead and oversee Project Accounting, Master Data, and Billing activities delivered from the GDC
• Ensure accurate and timely project and client setup, including contract terms, billing rules, and rates
• Oversee preparation and issuance of client invoices in line with agreed schedules and policies
• Partner with project teams and Finance Project Partners to resolve billing issues, variances, and exceptions
• Drive achievement of WIP and billing KPIs through disciplined execution and prioritization
• Review project activity regularly to ensure timely project close and financial hygiene
• Act as an escalation point for complex or high-risk billing and project accounting matters
• Coach, guide, and support Associates, Senior Associates, Specialists, and POD Leads
• Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of team members
• Ensure compliance with ERM policies, procedures, and internal controls
 

Influence and Decision-Making Authority


• Prioritization of work within assigned delivery scope
• Resolution of operational issues within defined policies and thresholds
• Escalation of material risks or exceptions to Finance leadership as required
 

Job Requirements & Capabilities


Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
• Professional certification such as CA, CPA, CMA, or equivalent preferred
• 12–19 years of experience in project accounting, billing, or order-to-cash within professional services

Job-specific capabilities:
• Strong understanding of project accounting and billing processes
• Experience leading teams in a shared services or delivery environment
• Ability to communicate effectively with global stakeholders across levels
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with project accounting or billing systems preferred
• Ability to work in shifts aligned to global stakeholders
