About the role
We’re building a first-of-its-kind Content Marketplace that connects AI builders (LLMs, copilots, chatbots, enterprise AI apps) with high-quality content and data sources in real time. The marketplace enables LLMs to ground their responses in fresh, authoritative, and diverse content while ensuring publishers and creators are fairly rewarded.
We’re looking for a Principal Product Manager - Publisher Content Marketplace - to own and represent the needs of our AI consumers — from large model providers to independent builders. You will define how AI systems access, value, and pay for grounding content, and ensure that marketplace pricing, policies, and performance are shaped by measurable demand-side outcomes.
This role sits at the intersection of product, economics, and experimentation - ideal for a PM who enjoys building 0 to 1, is a self-starter and thrives in ambiguity.
Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.
Starting January 26, 2026, Microsoft AI (MAI) employees who live within a 50- mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. or 25-mile commute of a non-U.S., country-specific location are expected to work from the office at least four days per week. This expectation is subject to local law and may vary by jurisdiction.

- Collaborate closely with Business Development (BD) and partnership teams during demand-side negotiations to translate customer requirements into product and pricing features.
- Define and evolve access tiers, usage models, and APIs that meet enterprise and model-builder needs for quality, latency, and transparency.
- Define Grounding Value metrics
- Work with data science and applied research teams to define quantitative measures of grounding quality (e.g., accuracy uplift, hallucination reduction, factual recall, response satisfaction).
- Partner with supply PMs to translate these into value signals that inform payout to content providers.
- Design and Lead Experiments
- Drive the experiment roadmap for understanding grounding & content value, partnering with engineering and applied science teams to progress on the road to true price discovery over time.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Solid analytical and experimental mindset — experience running A/B or cluster experiments, defining metrics, and interpreting results.
- Background in economics, data science, or applied experimentation (e.g., causal inference, pricing models, or marketplace dynamics).
- Ability to collaborate across engineering, BD, and research functions.
