RTX Corporation is seeking an experienced and strategic Associate Director, Electronics Components Sourcing Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead and manage overarching strategies for electronic components sourcing. This role will be instrumental in developing and executing comprehensive commodity strategies to establish and maintain a robust supply base, ensuring the capabilities, capacity, and performance required to support RTX’s significant growth over the next five years. The position focuses on achieving multiyear pipeline cost savings through productivity improvements and implementing supply assurance strategies that address the rapidly evolving market dynamics of microelectronics.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electronics components sourcing, extensive knowledge of the defense industry, and expertise in managing global semiconductor markets. Success in this role will require collaboration across RTX business units, programmatic teams, and functional staff to drive scalable sourcing strategies and ensure security of supply with key manufacturers and distribution partners.

What You Will Do:

  • Create and implement comprehensive commodity strategies for electronic components to support RTX’s growth objectives.
  • Optimize productivity by leveraging business unit spend and driving enterprise-wide economies of scale.
  • Establish robust supply assurance strategies to mitigate risks and maintain continuity of supply in a dynamic market environment.
  • Foster strategic relationships with key component manufacturers and distribution partners to ensure security of supply and support long-term business goals.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to align capabilities, capacity, and performance with RTX objectives and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with RTX programmatic and functional staff across business units to align sourcing strategies with organizational goals and program needs.
  • Facilitate communication and alignment between RTX business units to develop cohesive, enterprise-wide sourcing plans.
  • Monitor and analyze rapid changes in the microelectronics market to identify emerging trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Leverage market insights to inform decision-making and strategy development for electronic components sourcing.
  • Ensure adherence to FAR/DFAR regulations and other compliance requirements for defense contractors.
  • Oversee the development and negotiation of agreements that align with defense industry standards and RTX policies.

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 16 years of relevant experience
  • Proven experience in developing and executing electronics commodity strategies, with a focus on the global semiconductor market.
  • Understanding of defense industry regulations, including FAR/DFAR compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated expertise in supplier negotiations, agreement documentation, and contract management.
  • In-depth knowledge of electronic products and go-to-market strategies.

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Advanced degree in Business, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Prior experience in the global semiconductor market, with knowledge of market trends and dynamics.; Familiarity with supply chain risk management and mitigation strategies.
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed organization, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multiple business units.
  • Leadership and strategic thinking skills.
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships across internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analytical and problem-solving capabilities to identify and address sourcing challenges.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with competing priorities.

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
