VCA Eye Clinic for Animals, located in Kearny Mesa, is seeking an experienced Veterinary Technician to join our team
Location: 5610 Kearny Mesa Rd # A, San Diego, CA 92111
Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday, Alternative Work Weeks, 4x10-hour shifts
Salary: $25– $30 per hour (negotiable based on education, experience, and credentials)
We are a fast-paced, Ophthalmology specialty referral practice in beautiful San Diego, California. We offer competitive compensation and great benefits for all employees. We are currently looking to add to our team, and we are seeking an experienced Credentialed Veterinary Technician who believes in high-quality veterinary medicine with the experience and know-how to make it happen. The successful candidate will be a believer in the possibilities of high-quality veterinary medicine and patient care—with the expertise and technical know-how to make them happen.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Venipuncture
- Catheter placement
- Anesthesia monitoring
- Physical examinations and patient assessment
- Surgical preparation and assisting
- Laboratory work
- Pharmacy
- Patient recovery
- Compassionate care for hospitalized patients
- Client Communication
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have documented previous experience, anesthesia experience preferred; ophthalmology experience preferred but not required
- Hold a current RVT license
- Must have surgery/anesthesia experience
- Flexibility and available to work Monday through Friday
- Customer service skills
- Working knowledge of computers
- Excellent communication skills
- Capable of being cross-trained as a receptionist
- Team player willing to learn new techniques and treatments
