The career path from financial analyst → senior analyst → manager → director → VP/CFO is one of the more legible career ladders in the working world. Each step typically takes 2–4 years with demonstrated ownership; the curve flattens slightly past director level as VP-and-above roles become structurally limited.

Public-company corporate finance roles run $80K–$160K for IC tracks; investment banking and PE finance roles often double that with bonus structures.
