Job Description

About the Team

Our New Verticals Strategy & Operations team is re-inventing the way consumers think about grocery, convenience, alcohol and retail delivery through both our first-party and third-party operations businesses. DashMarts are our first-party offering designed to provide on-demand deliveries through a new type of convenience. Inside DashMarts we sell household essentials, groceries, brand-name favorites, local favorites and so much more! We have sites all over the country and are growing our geographic footprint, services we offer and scaling our existing sites today!

As we scale our physical footprint across new and existing markets, navigating complex regulatory environments is critical to enabling sustainable growth. Our Regulatory Strategy & Operations team ensures DashMart can expand efficiently while maintaining compliance with local zoning, permitting, and community requirements.

About the Role

In this role, you will support the execution of regulatory workflows that enable growth while minimizing risk, cost, and timelines. You will identify and track regulatory and community-related issues across our site portfolio, and partner cross-functionally with Operations, Real Estate, Legal, Construction, Public Policy, and Category Management teams to support site launches and ongoing operations.

You will analyze data, support audits, and build processes that improve how we identify, track, and resolve issues across markets. You will report to a Manager on our DashMart Regulatory Operations team; we operate in a hybrid model with time split across your home office, in-market site visits, and cross-functional collaboration.

You’re excited about this opportunity because you will…

  • Build. You’ll help build and improve processes that support regulatory operations across DashMart, contributing to more efficient and predictable site launches and operations.
  • Strategize. You’ll support the development of strategies that address regulatory and community-related challenges across markets.
  • Experiment. You’ll translate strategies into operational improvements and pilots, testing new approaches to improve execution.
  • Analyze. You’ll assess operational performance, identify trends and issues, and use data to inform decisions and prioritize improvements.
  • Collaborate. You’ll work with a cross-functional team, including local operations, construction, real estate, vendor and category management, and warehouse design teams.

We’re excited about you because…

  • You solve problems from first principles. You’re excited to solve problems in innovative ways, and you resist “this is how it’s always been done” thinking.
  • You’re equally comfortable operating at 10,000 feet and 1 foot. You don’t hesitate to get in the weeds and operate at the lowest level of detail, but you’re just as comfortable thinking long-term and inspiring a team. No job is beneath you.
  • You’re unafraid of ambiguity. Rapid change and learning is exciting to you, and you thrive in ambiguous, startup environments
  • You’re analytical. You let data win arguments, and you’re comfortable pulling your own data in SQL or modeling in Excel.
  • You have 1–3 years of professional experience. You’ve succeeded operating in fast-paced, high-performance environments and exposure to local government or city planning processes. Familiarity with zoning, permitting, or entitlements is preferred.
  • You have completed your BS/BA Degree. Preferably in a relevant field such as Urban Planning, Public Policy, Environmental Policy, Real Estate Development, or a related discipline.
