Job Description
Learfield Amplify is looking to add a high impact team member who will serve as a Leadership Annual Giving Officer as part of the Mountaineer Athletic Club (MAC) team. In complete collaboration with the MAC, this position will be committed through first class professionalism to grow philanthropic investment to support the goals of West Virginia Athletics and its student-athletes.
In this role you will work to achieve pre-defined KPIs centered around development activities and revenue for West Virginia Athletics. This role will report to the Director, Revenue Generation and work in close collaboration with MAC leadership.
Responsibilities
Consistently initiate outreach efforts to secure new donors, and renew and upgrade entry and mid-level annual giving prospects
Make at least 10-15 substantive contacts per month with an emphasis on quality personal visits (e.g. significant moves that advance a relationship)
Conduct donor visits outside the office where necessary
Attend West Virginia Athletic events to engage with current and prospective donors
Travel, primarily locally, as needed to visit new and prospective donors
Cultivate relationships to develop a portfolio of Leadership Annual Giving prospects, focusing on prospects rated up to $50,000.
Network at various community and corporate events including business after-hours, speaker series, etc.
Actively participate in prospecting meetings and other regular MAC meetings
Achieve and exceed annual revenue goals established by management
Achieve and exceed weekly activity and hustle metrics
Provide superior customer service to donors, prospects, and all fans of West Virginia Athletics
Work closely with the MAC and Learfield Amplify Executive National Director of Development to develop new ideas and new strategies toward fundraising initiatives and campaigns
Provide weekly revenue and activity reporting to West Virginia Athletics & Learfield Amplify Executive National Director of Development
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree preferred
2+ years of experience working in sales or development related field; University or sports related development experience preferable but not required
Superior communication skills, collaborative with strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Highest level of personal and professional integrity and ethics with strong customer service skills
Demonstrate a proven track record in sales and building quality relationships
Strong desire to learn about our business and grow your professional career
Effectively express ideas verbally and in writing
Independently take action beyond what is called for
Be able to generate original and imaginative solutions to business opportunities
Experience working with CRM systems such as Salesforce.com, Microsoft CRM, etc
Willingness and ability to work long hours, including holidays and weekends as required
Willingness and ability to travel
